What are the expenses not covered under health insurance?

Health insurance policies do not cover any diseases in the first 30 days. Pre-existing diseases are usually not covered in the first 4 years. They do not cover congenital diseases, diseases arising out of use of drugs or from AIDS. Certain diseases are covered after a 2-year period (the list differs from insurer to insurer). Cosmetic treatment is excluded. Some policies do not cover non-allopathic treatment. Refer to policy coverage and exclusions before buying one.
